Old Barn Coffee Company was born out of a lifelong love of coffee. My first coffee was when I was 13 and working with my dad and a carpenter to build our house. Our carpenter was military and was very regimented about coffee breaks twice a day. We would gather around a table in a trailer or stretch out under the old maple trees and pause for a minute to share stories and appreciate life. The coffee was a bitter-tasting instant mix, but even from that first cup I learned that coffee has the ability to bring people together, as well as get them to slow down and enjoy a few moments of time.
I have spent the years since then exploring and learning about coffee and brewing techniques, and I have never lost the appreciation for the power of a cup of coffee to bring people together and help us pause and appreciate life.
My wife bought my first roaster for me four years ago and continues to encourage me along my coffee journey. My daughter has been helping me roast since she was old enough to reach the stove. My son helps me brew our morning coffees every day.
Coffee has made my life better in many ways, and my hope is that my coffee can have a small impact on yours.
